It’s quite mind-boggling to us, her parents, that on this date 2 years ago, we welcomed our munchkin and she looked like this:
Bright light! Bright light!
And her first mutual scrutiny of family ties with Tony looked like this:
“I am your father” moment
And then last year, on her first birthday, she looked like this:
Duck and chickens
And then – whooshka! She turned 2, weighs a hefty 14.6kg, and stands about 90cm++. And she is more entertaining than ever.
Taking the whole “say Cheese to the camera” thing a little too literallyWhat started out as a prayer for lunch soon turned in Ring-a-ring-a-roses.Purple fashionistaGuest of Honour at the Big Kids table this eveningSuddenly Shy during Happy Birthday song, after rehearsing about eleventeen times on the way over… (Also, sorry I chopped off her friends’ heads.) I come from a much smaller island-city-state-country called Singapore. I’ve been setting down roots in Australia since 2003. I love both countries immensely.
In 1986, I became a writer.
In 2002, a blogger.
In 2004, a wife.
In 2011, a mother.
Somewhere in amongst all that, I did event and conference management, public relations, marketing, and online communications for over a decade. I’m currently a freelance web manager for a modern dance school, a part-time Communications and Marketing Manager, a part-time writer, and a part-time stay-at-home mother. I don’t sleep much.

Amazing how such little ones just by *being* can provide so much joy, comfort and inspiration. We love that little girl of yours and also say ‘WELL DONE’ on two incredible years of mothering. This is me
I write about being a Chinese Singaporean and choosing to live in Canberra. I write about being a Christian, a mother, a wife, a woman. I write about discovering joy - in the everyday, in the grand scheme of things, in the sun and in the storm.
